Let me introduce you the largest transport hub of the country, the south gate of Russia, a city with a rich history and a promising future – the hero-city of Novorossiysk.
Novorossiysk is situated in the southwest of the Krasnodar region. It shares borders with the territory of the Municipal Formation Resort Town of Anapa, the Krymsk District and the Municipal Formation Resort Town of Gelendzhik.
The lands of Novorossiysk with surrounding rural settlements amount to 83,494 ha. The city is a major transport hub and industrial center in the south of Russia. In September 1973, Novorossiysk was awarded the title of ‘Hero City’.
The population amounted to 319.2 thousand people in 2015.
Novorossiysk is one of the three cities in the Krasnodar region, which form the basis of the economic system of Kuban.
Novorossiysk produces more than 13% of gross domestic product in the region and holds the 2nd place (after Krasnodar) in terms of the size of volumes of products and services production.
In 2014, the majority directions of social and economic development of the city showed stable positive results.
Following the results of 2014, there are 502 small and medium-sized businesses per 10 thousand people in the Municipal Formation of Novorossiysk. The indicator has a positive trend compared with 2013 year. The growth rate was 0.2% that characterizes the level of the development of small and medium-sized businesses and increases its role in the labor market.
16,016 small and medium-sized enterprises (15,693 enterprises in 2013) were carried out their activities in the urban district in 2014 that is an increase by 2.1%.
The turnover of small and medium-sized enterprises in 2014 amounted to 102,444.7 billion rubles that is higher by 8.4% compared with 2013.
The volume of investments in fixed assets of all sources of funding during 2014 amounted to 49,935.2 billion rubles, among them budget funds amounted to 4,085.3 billion rubles that is higher by 18% compared with the volume in 2013.
The most important projects in the economy of the city completed in 2014 are as follows: - Construction of a processing line for the production of cement by «dry» method with a capacity of 6,000 tons of the cement clinkers per day in the territory of the Pervomayskiy Plant (Novoroscement, OJSC) with an amount of investment of 18.2 billion rubles. 533 jobs were created; - Construction of the fuel oil terminal in Novorossiysk with an amount of investment of 6.0 billion rubles. 305 jobs were created; - Technical re-equipping of the fire-extinguisher system and the Sheskharis Oil District with an amount of investment of 333.4 million rubles; - Construction of the residential neighborhood «South Beach» (the PIC Group of Companies); - Construction of a multifunctional shopping complex (METRO PROPERTIES, LLC).
The implementation of the investment project on the construction of the first stage of the pipeline system “South” (Chernomortransneft, OJSC) began in 2014.
The implementation of the project on expanding the pipeline system «Tengiz – Novorossiysk» and increasing its capacity from 28.2 million tons to 67 million tons per year. The output of the pipeline at full capacity is planned to be in 2015.
The reconstruction of railway tank car loading racks and the technological pump station for draining the diesel fuel (IPP, OJSC).
The construction of the residential complex «Sudzhuk Calais», as well as the development of the Abrau Durso area (Kubanzhilstroy, LLC).
There is a growth in investment in fixed assets (excluding the budget funds) per 1 inhabitant in 2014 by 39.3%. Novorossiysk was presented 29 investment projects and 32 investment sites and signed 15 agreements with a total amount of 64.0 billion rubles on the International Investment Forum «Sochi 2014».
